Could Harrisburg or Redmond Be Your Next School Contract?

Two cities on opposite sides of the country – one has a rich historical significance and the other a hub for innovative technology. Both are ripe with opportunities for contract school therapy positions and worth a look as the locale for your next adventure.

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is the state capital and about 100 miles from Philadelphia. During the American Civil War, Harrisburg was a training center for the Union Army and is now home to the National Civil War Museum, which bills itself as the only museum in the U.S. that portrays the entire story of the American Civil War. There you can tour many artifacts of famous personalities from General Robert E. Lee to President Abraham Lincoln.

Into sports and the outdoors? Wildwood Park is tucked away in the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania and a great spot to take in nature and get some exercise. You’ll want to bring your four-legged friend along, too. Take in some ball at FNB Field, which is located on City Island in the middle of the Susquehanna River and home of the Harrisburg Senators, the AA affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Then grab dinner’s ingredients from Broad Street Market with 40 vendors selling locally-grown and organic produce, meats, baked goods, and freshly prepared meals.

If you’re a speech language pathologist (SLP) or school psychologist, learn more about PPR’s current opportunities with the Harrisburg School District – a culturally diverse, urban school district in South Central Pennsylvania.

Redmond, Washington

Redmond is located just 16 miles east of Seattle, Washington, and known for its mild climate for its latitude but still enjoys all four seasons. Microsoft and Nintendo both call Redmond home as do many other tech companies. It would only make sense that TESLA Stem High School brings cutting edge tech to the next generation of coders and innovators in Redmond.

The city isn’t all about digital screens, though. With an annual bike race on city streets and the state’s only velodrome, Redmond claims the title of “Bicycle Capital of the Northwest.” Another place to unwind and have fun is Marymoor Park, which features a climbing rock, a model airplane flying field, a 48-acre dog park, an outdoor theater, sports fields, a community garden and a cricket pitch.

PPR has exciting contract positions in the Lake Washington School District so you can head back to school as an SLP, occupational therapist or school psychologist. It’s not too late to sign for the 2018-19 school year and expand your experience while calling a new place “home” for a while.
